I got paid!

Yes, it's true! Money went IN to the bank account and not OUT of it! This exciting and slightly intoxicating experience has been absent from my life for over a year now, and I am a bit giddy with it, I can tell you. And the best part is, the bank account is in pounds, so I no longer have to double the price of everything I buy to know how much is going out. Although, the two jobs thing is a bit tiring - by this Sunday I will have worked 7 days in a row.

But on the bright side.....

Yes!!! The first preview for Harry Potter V is here: http://ca.movies.yahoo.com/movie/1808475612/trailer

And look at those child actors! *Sigh* They grow up so fast.

Casino Royale ....

The movie was totally awesome guys... been a awhile since I have seen a movie just that entertaining. Daniel Craig makes a good Bond too. Overall it seemed that this Bond flick broke from the usual Bond-type movie which is probably why I liked it so much. Bond was much more vulnerable... and overall the movie was a bit darker even...

Korean BBQ!!!

Last Friday I met up with Avery for dinner in Toronto (after my 'interest interview' at the architects firm) and she suggested this fantastic (and hip) restaurant where they serve you all sorts of raw meat that you then get to BBQ yourself.

She won't be happy with him!!!!

Noooooo x 2

A Joyful Return to Archaeology.

Back in the 2nd week of October ...
Drawing a profile before lunch...

Wall collapsed while we were sitting on the floor of the cellar eating our lunches (my back was against the left wall)

Photo of my eye the evening of the accident - and 3 days later the area all around my eye was black/purple - really just looked worse than it was :)

Financial solvency is a glorious thing

I got the job at the fudge shop! Where my advanced degree and inordinate knowledge of Viking-age England will not only be entirely wasted, but also completely irrelevant and superfluous. Brilliant, no?

But still, I am very happy about this, as it is very much like some of my past (weird) jobs. I have only ever had one normal job, working at Chapters, and after I bought all the discount books I could afford, it really was so boring. So hey for the fudge shop and the tourists! And the silly costumes and incessantly perky greeting. I think it will be rather fun.
