Fun with cameras
Number 2, Precentor's Court is rapidly taking on a homey and somewhat eccentric feel. I now have all my furniture and I ordered arty posters online to decorate my walls. Postcards appeared on the walls of the kitchen overnight - not sure yet whose - and there is a random canvas of Elvis in the sitting room. We also have a flat sreen plasma tv, courtesy of John's PhD grant. As evidence that the AHRC has enough money to fund a poor Canadian student researching Vikings, he also bought an expensive new camera and practiced by taking pictures of our house and the Minster. Some examples:
Anyone recognize Ross' massive coffee cup?
View from my window
The front door! I don't think you have seen inside yet? Check out those bolts! There are three separate locks and a chain. It took me ten minutes to get inside when I first got the keys.

And in other news, still no job, although I applied to work at the fudge shop and the York Theatre Royal this week. The Press also had an advert for an embalmer (no experience necessary, full training given), but I thought perhaps not. I went to Reivaulx last Sunday and plan to treck out to Sutton Bank this weekend. But first I must get warmer clothes - it's miserably cold! Where have all the flowers gone?
